Did you know that … ?
Some curiosities for you!
- ‘Békla’ is made up of two words: béc and klar
Secondly, it also contains my first and last name
- A matrix requires an average of 100 hours of engraving
(Not counting the time spent on planning and transferring the design)
-
The plants I use most for creating inks are walnut, chestnut, madder, reseda, rhubarb, galium, bramble and nettle.
Occasionally, I also use indigo to obtain blues, and it is the only cultivated plant I purchase.
I love using what my local area has to offer, and there are so many possibilities.
- The paper I use comes from the waste of large factories
- The fabrics are organic or vintage (such as cotton, linen, hemp, wool, silk) and are completely natural. I prefer to use fabrics from the past rather than encourage the production of new ones, even if they are organic.
- The printed fabrics require two weeks to dry, due to the natural inks. They need a lot of time to fix!
- I create musical artwork, company logos and personalised stamps (see the FAQ page for more information).
